A dedicated server is a physical machine where every resource — CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth — is allocated entirely to one client. There’s no sharing with other users, which means consistent performance and stronger isolation from security threats.
Browse Intel Xeon dedicated server configurations: Chicago, Los Angeles and Ashburn
Every build here is an Intel Xeon, single or dual socket, and each card names the processor. All configurations ship with at least 30 TB of bandwidth, free R1Soft backups on new orders and GigeNET's 99.5% uptime SLA as standard (100% with our High Availability Guarantee). Pick a processor and a location below, or request a custom build if you need something outside these specs.

Your application runs on enterprise-grade bare-metal hardware housed in one of GigeNET’s three US data centers. You get full access to the machine’s resources, with GigeNET managing the physical infrastructure, power, cooling, and network connectivity underneath.
The main distinction is managed vs. unmanaged. With a managed server, GigeNET handles OS maintenance, security patching, and monitoring. With an unmanaged server, you have full root access and control — GigeNET handles hardware and network only. View management plans →
High-traffic websites, SaaS platforms, large databases, game servers, financial applications, virtualization hosts, and any workload where performance, isolation, or compliance requirements rule out shared infrastructure.
On a shared server, CPU, RAM, and storage are split across many customers — your performance depends on what your neighbors are doing. On a dedicated server, the entire machine is yours. Nobody else’s workload competes for your CPU, RAM or disks.
Yes — in two important ways. First, your environment is isolated, so vulnerabilities from other tenants can’t affect you. Second, you control what software runs on the machine. Add GigeNET’s always-on DDoS protection and you have a significantly harder target than anything on shared infrastructure. Learn about our DDoS protection →
GigeNET supports a range of Linux distributions and Windows Server editions. Our team can assist with OS selection, installation, and configuration. See managed plans for full OS support details →
Yes. Managed plans cover OS and software maintenance, security patching, performance monitoring, and technical support for your server environment — so your team stays focused on your application rather than the infrastructure. Unmanaged plans give you full root access with GigeNET handling everything at the hardware and network layer. View managed server plans →
GigeNET provides a custom client portal with secure access, billing management, server metrics, automated OS reinstalls, KVM over IP, and remote reboot — giving you full visibility and control without needing third-party control panel software.
Pick the E3-1230 v1 for one busy job that leans on single-thread speed, like a small site or a game server. The Xeon D-1541 (8 cores, 16 threads) is the better all-rounder for databases and several apps on one box. Go dual Xeon E5 when you want lots of threads for virtualization or build farms. All three are on the Chicago and Los Angeles forms; in Ashburn the E3 is sold out right now, so start with the Xeon D or the dual E5 there.
Yes. The dual Xeon E5 cards above are two-socket builds, and in Chicago there’s a dual Xeon E5-2670 v2 special. If you need a 16-core server or bigger, the Chicago dual E5 form goes up to 28 cores; past that, we quote larger dual-socket builds on the quote form.
