Customer Support Technician
Reports to: VP of Operations
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Compensation:

Description of Duties:
This role manages day-to-day technical support across GigeNET’s dedicated server, cloud, and colocation customers — diagnosing issues, configuring solutions, and working directly with clients through our management portal.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Build and configure complex solutions with a priority in high availability and scalability.
- Quickly diagnosing, optimizing and correcting database trouble.
- Manage shared replicated storage solutions.
- Experience with mitigating
- Denial of Service attacks as well as hardening
- Linux/Windows Servers against attacks.
- Monitor hardware and prevent potential hardware failure.
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of all things Linux.
- Motivation to better oneself and better understand all aspects of System
- Administration.
- Strong ability to self-guide through technical certifications with the use of training materials that will be provided.
- Strong customer advocacy experience.

Senior Software Engineer
Reports to: VP of Engineering
Location: Arlington Heights, IL

Description of Duties:
Build and maintain the client portal, internal management tools, and customer-facing applications that GigeNET’s hosting customers use daily — working primarily in PHP and Python against a MySQL backend.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of end-user applications that allow the client to have more control over their services.
- Complete software projects in a timely fashion using proven development processes.
- Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects while able to balance various requests from clients.
Requirements:
- 4+ Years Experience with PHP.
- 3+ Years Experience with mySQL Database.
- 3+ Years Experience with Python.
- 2+ Years Data Center Experience.
- Experience in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- MVC Standard knowledge.
- Solid understanding of acceptable programming techniques (security vulnerability specific).
- Ability to multitask on several projects.
- Must be able to collaborate as a team and work individually.
- Linux Server Administration experience a plus.
- Basic Networking Skills are a plus.
