GigeNET Adds Dual Purpose Server to its Line-up

GigeNET adds the last server building block to its server line-up, and completely removes legacy hardware
GigeNET, an innovator in resilient managed cloud and dedicated hosting, announced the release of the Dual E5-2630 v4 and the finalization of the GigeNET server line. This 20 core server has space for up to two terabytes of DDR4 RAM and as much as 64 TB of local storage. In preliminary tests, the Dual E5, was able to accomplish network applications faster than any of the other servers tested.
“The Dual E5 is a monster of a server and allows us to tackle many of the problems our customers saw with private clouds designed by other providers. In a cluster with failover, the memory ceiling is off the charts removing a critical barrier to private cloud adoption,” said Joe De Paola, SVP of Products at GigeNET.
Intel built the E5-2600 v4 series to be the foundation for software-defined enterprise data centers. According to Intel’s benchmark numbers, the dual E5 can support up to 240% more VMs while reducing operation costs by 58%.
“Like the Xeon-D family, the E5-2600 v4 series is a model of efficiency and raw power and augments our recent rollouts. We have made an environmentally conscious decision by standardizing on both of these servers without compromising performance for our customers. We are looking to greatly increase our datacenters’ server density by as much as 10x while using far less power. This is a huge win,” said De Paola.
GigeNET’s Xeon E5-2630 v4 start with 128GB of DDR4 and can quickly scale to 2 TB. Rounding out the configuration, every Xeon E5-2630 v4 comes with a 960GB Enterprise SSD or 8 TB Enterprise 7200 RPM SATA drive standard. The Xeon E5-2630 v4 can scale up to 8 total hard disks. Order yours today.
