How Veeam DRaaS works at GigeNET.

Veeam Backup & Replication continuously replicates your VMware or Hyper-V virtual machines to GigeNET’s infrastructure — maintaining a synchronized copy that can be powered on in minutes if your primary environment fails. Unlike traditional backup-and-restore DR (which can take hours), Veeam replication keeps your DR copy warm and ready, dramatically reducing recovery time objectives.

Replication traffic is encrypted point-to-point via SSL. WAN acceleration compresses data in transit to reduce bandwidth consumption without adding recovery time. Failback to your primary environment is fully supported with data synchronization — so when you’re ready to return to production, your data is already in sync.

With Onsite DRaaS, your disaster recovery infrastructure runs on physical hardware inside GigeNET’s data centers — either on GigeNET-leased dedicated servers or your own collocated equipment. Veeam replicates your VMs to this dedicated infrastructure over an encrypted connection, maintaining a synchronized replica ready to failover on demand.

GigeNET’s engineers scope the hardware requirements based on your VM inventory, replication frequency, and recovery time objectives — then configure and test the DR environment before you need it. You retain full control over replication policies, failover procedures, and resource allocation.
