GigeNET vs ReliableSite (2026): SLA, support, DDoS and price

ReliableSite’s dedicated servers start at $49 a month. Ours start at $126. If the sticker price were the whole story this would be a short page. It isn’t, because the bigger difference shows up on the day a drive dies or the network blips: what each host has promised you in writing, and what it pays you if it misses.

Everything about ReliableSite below comes from its own website, checked on October 13, 2026. We’re GigeNET, so weigh our side with that in mind. Every claim about us links to a page you can read yourself.

What the $49 buys, and what the $126 buys

ReliableSite’s entry box is a fair deal for what it is. It’s listed as an “Intel Special” with four cores, a clock speed shown as “Varies”, DDR3 memory and a 1 TB SSD. That’s a fine dev or staging machine.

Our $126 server is a Xeon E3-1230 v1 with up to 32 GB of RAM and 30 TB of monthly bandwidth, on a $0 setup, month-to-month plan. If you want an unmetered port instead, our $159 Xeon D-1541 special comes with 64 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and 1 Gbps unmetered in Ashburn, Chicago or Los Angeles. Need a lot more? Our Chicago dual Xeon E5 builds go up to 512 GB of RAM and eight drive slots, and 10 Gbps unmetered servers start at $499 a month.

Price per core isn’t where we try to win. We try to win on what happens when something goes wrong.

What you get in writing

Our SLA page lists every remedy before you sign anything. On a standard server, network availability under 99.5% in a month earns a 5% credit, and it steps up through 10%, 25% and 50% to the full monthly fee below 85%. Managed servers sit on a higher tier, where the first credit starts below 99.95%.

The SLA doesn’t stop at the network.

  • Support response: a written ticket gets a response within 30 minutes on a self-managed server, or 15 minutes on a managed one. Miss it and you’re credited.
  • Hardware replacement: a failed component is replaced within 2 hours, or 1 hour on a managed plan, with its own credit schedule.
  • Claims: you file within ten business days, and the schedule decides the credit.

ReliableSite’s network page promises a “100% network uptime SLA” and a “0% Packet Loss Guarantee”. Those are strong headlines. We couldn’t find the credit terms behind them on that page, and we didn’t find a stated support response time or a hardware replacement window on the pages we read. A promise with a published remedy is something you can file a ticket against. A promise without one is harder to use.

DDoS protection

Both hosts include DDoS protection with every server. ReliableSite says its protection is “included with any server” and that “maximum filtering capability varies by data center.”

Ours is spelled out on the order form: 4 Gbps of protection is included on every dedicated server, and you can step up to 6 Gbps for $155 a month, 8 Gbps for $330 or 10 Gbps for $525. Bigger than that, our ProxyShield Advanced is quoted to fit. Whichever host you pick, ask what happens when an attack is bigger than the included protection, because scrubbing, a paid upgrade and a null route are very different answers.

Support and management

People answer our tickets and phone calls 24/7. If you’d rather not run the OS yourself, Enterprise Server Management is $99 a month per server, or $79 on a server with a cPanel license. It covers OS patching, 24/7 monitoring and troubleshooting, and it moves the server onto the faster SLA tier: 15-minute support response, 1-hour hardware replacement and the 99.95% network line.

Switching to GigeNET

Moving hosts is mostly a planning job. Here’s what helps on our side.

  • In-stock servers go online the same day or the next day. Custom builds take a week or less.
  • If you’re on cPanel, we migrate cPanel accounts from your old host for free.
  • New orders include R1Soft backups with 1 TB of space, so your first backup can run the day the server lands.
  • IPMI sits on a private management network by default, so the console isn’t exposed on a public IP.
  • There’s no setup fee and no contract.

Check your current host’s cancellation notice period, run both servers side by side for a few days, and move DNS once the new box has carried real traffic.

So which one?

If the server is a throwaway test box, buy whatever’s cheapest. If it runs something your customers pay for, pick the host that writes down what it owes you when things break, and then read that page before you order. That’s why we publish ours. Tell us what you’re running and we’ll quote a server sized to it, or start with our dedicated servers.

FAQ

Is ReliableSite cheaper than GigeNET?

At the entry level, yes. On October 13, 2026, ReliableSite’s cheapest listed server was $49 a month and ours was $126. Compare the full spec and the SLA terms, not only the monthly price.

Does GigeNET have an uptime SLA with credits?

Yes. Standard servers are covered at 99.5% and managed servers at 99.95%, with a published credit schedule that reaches 100% of the monthly fee. Support response and hardware replacement have their own guarantees and credits.

Does GigeNET include DDoS protection?

Yes. Every dedicated server includes 4 Gbps of protection, with 6, 8 and 10 Gbps tiers on the order form and ProxyShield Advanced quoted beyond that.

How fast can I move from ReliableSite to GigeNET?

In-stock servers go online the same or next day. cPanel accounts migrate free, and you can keep both servers running until you’re happy to switch DNS.
