Don't take our word for it.

We're rated 4.8 out of 5 from 22 reviews on Google.

"

"I've used all of the go-to hosting companies over the years — and left all of them. Poor performance, uptime issues, support that tries to pass blame rather than fix things. GigeNET is different. The network, the uptime, the support — everything is top notch. If something critical happens, I need an engineer who can actually fix it. With GigeNET, that's always the case."

"

"We've been with GigeNET for over 7 years with 100+ servers and couldn't be happier. We've worked with many providers since 1995 — GigeNET outshines them all. Unmatched stability, fast and accurate support, and a team that genuinely feels like part of our operation."

"

"I've never dealt with a better server company. We've been using them for 2 years, never have had any network issues, never once offline, and we had a software issue (that was outside of their scope of support) but they still stepped in to fix it within 30 minutes! Immediate response! Best company ever!"

What is included with every GigeNET dedicated server?

Every server includes a 100% uptime SLA in writing, at least 30 TB of bandwidth, always-on DDoS protection, free R1Soft backups on new orders, and our client portal with KVM over IP, remote reboot and automated OS reinstalls. Support is 24/7/365 from US-based engineers.

What does the 100% uptime SLA cover?

Our network availability SLA is 100%, backed by service credits if we miss it. Full terms, including hardware replacement and support response times, are on our SLA page.

Is the 10 Gbps unmetered server really uncapped?

Yes. The $499/month 10 Gbps server in Chicago is full-duplex unmetered, with no bandwidth caps and no overage fees. See current unmetered packages →

What is a dedicated server?

A dedicated server is a physical machine where every resource — CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth — is allocated entirely to one client. There’s no sharing with other users, which means consistent performance and stronger isolation from security threats.

How do dedicated servers work?

Your application runs on enterprise-grade bare-metal hardware housed in one of GigeNET’s three US data centers. You get full access to the machine’s resources, with GigeNET managing the physical infrastructure, power, cooling, and network connectivity underneath.

What are the types of dedicated servers?

The main distinction is managed vs. unmanaged. With a managed server, GigeNET handles OS maintenance, security patching, and monitoring. With an unmanaged server, you have full root access and control — GigeNET handles hardware and network only. View management plans →

What is a dedicated server used for?

High-traffic websites, SaaS platforms, large databases, game servers, financial applications, virtualization hosts, and any workload where performance, isolation, or compliance requirements rule out shared infrastructure.

What is the difference between a shared server and a dedicated server?

On a shared server, CPU, RAM, and storage are split across many customers — your performance depends on what your neighbors are doing. On a dedicated server, the entire machine is yours. Nobody else’s workload competes for your CPU, RAM or disks.

Is dedicated hosting safer than shared hosting?

Yes — in two important ways. First, your environment is isolated, so vulnerabilities from other tenants can’t affect you. Second, you control what software runs on the machine. Add GigeNET’s always-on DDoS protection and you have a significantly harder target than anything on shared infrastructure. Learn about our DDoS protection →

What operating systems are supported?

GigeNET supports a range of Linux distributions and Windows Server editions. Our team can assist with OS selection, installation, and configuration. See managed plans for full OS support details →

Do you offer managed hosting? What is included?

Yes. Managed plans cover OS and software maintenance, security patching, performance monitoring, and technical support for your server environment — so your team stays focused on your application rather than the infrastructure. Unmanaged plans give you full root access with GigeNET handling everything at the hardware and network layer. View managed server plans →

What control panel options are available?

GigeNET provides a custom client portal with secure access, billing management, server metrics, automated OS reinstalls, KVM over IP, and remote reboot — giving you full visibility and control without needing third-party control panel software.

Which Xeon should I pick: E3-1230 v1, Xeon D-1541 or a dual Xeon E5?

Pick the E3-1230 v1 for one busy job that leans on single-thread speed, like a small site or a game server. The Xeon D-1541 (8 cores, 16 threads) is the better all-rounder for databases and several apps on one box. Go dual Xeon E5 when you want lots of threads for virtualization or build farms. All three are on the Chicago and Los Angeles forms; in Ashburn the E3 is sold out right now, so start with the Xeon D or the dual E5 there. Not sure how many cores you need? See cores vs threads vs clock speed.

Do you have dual Xeon dedicated servers?

Yes. The dual Xeon E5 cards above are two-socket builds, and in Chicago there’s a dual Xeon E5-2670 v2 special. If you need a 16-core server or bigger, the Chicago dual E5 form goes up to 28 cores; past that, we quote larger dual-socket builds on the quote form.

Need a configuration that's not listed here?

Every server GigeNET deploys can be customized — different CPU generations, higher RAM, custom storage configurations, RAID setups, and bandwidth tiers are all available on request. Tell us your workload and we'll spec the right machine.
